Program Overview
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program is dedicated to training philosophy professionals with high scientific and educational qualities, who will have international competitiveness and flexibility, and be able to integrate academic and professional practices globally.

Course Planning
1st year -
Select the topic of the graduate thesis, form a personal work plan for the graduate student; carry out the work under the supervision of the thesis scientific tutor; Prepare and submit at least 1 printed article related to the research topic in accordance with the relevant effective requirements, participate in scientific and practical conferences (seminars) and publish report abstracts.
2nd & 3rd year -
Carry out thesis work under the guidance of the tutor; Prepare and submit at least one article related to the research topic for publication each year in accordance with current requirements, participate in scientific and practical conferences (seminars) and publish papers of the report.
3rd or 4th year - thesis defense
Learners of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree are certified under the education and research plan of specialty 033 "Philosophy", and the defense of the thesis is conducted in the form of a public defense by a special academic committee, and ends with the award of a doctoral degree document in philosophy that meets the specified sample, and obtains the "Doctor of Philosophy" qualification. The content of the thesis should include an introduction, three chapters, and a summary. The total number of words should be between 65 and 90 pages (A4 paper, APA format or Ukrainian national standard DSTU).

The National Technical University of Ukraine, also known as the Kiev Polytechnic University of Ukraine, was established in 1898. The National Technical University ranks in the top three in Ukraine's comprehensive ranking, and ranks first in professional ranks. It is also one of the leading engineering universities in Europe and the world, and one of the top ten polytechnic schools in Europe. It is referred to as the "Tsinghua" of Ukraine. The National Technical University has 58 national academicians and has established cooperation with many international organizations and more than 150 universities from 34 countries.
In the "2023 Ukraine Top 200 University Ranking (Top-200 Ukraine 2023)" by the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science, KPI ranks 2nd in the comprehensive ranking.

KPI maintains a close cooperative relationship with more than 30 universities and scientific research institutions in China, and has trained a large number of professionals for China's aerospace, information network, physical research, engineering technology, etc. In 2018, the school’s president, Mykhailo Zgurovsky, was awarded the Friendship Medal by China.
Course Introduction:
The Department of Philosophy was founded at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 1958.
Professors, associate professors, and teachers of the department teach philosophical disciplines to students of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education at all faculties of KPI. Igor Sikorsky. The most experienced specialists teach philosophical disciplines as part of the training of applicants for higher education of the third (educational and scientific) level (PhD). There is a postgraduate and doctoral program at the department. In 1996, the Faculty of Sociology of NTUU “KPI” was established on the basis of the departments of philosophy, history of Ukraine, political science, and sociology.
In 2008, the Faculty of Sociology and Law (FSP) was established.
Starting from 2018, the department is a graduate majoring in 231 Social Work.
We liaise with international programs and take care of our students, who have the right to acquire knowledge and skills outside our country.
