New Western University (NWU) was founded in October 2023 to meet the growing demand for adaptive, high-quality distance education in business and technology. Established during a time of global uncertainty, NWU was built on the belief that education should be accessible, measurable, and designed to help students excel in an evolving world.

A Vision Shaped by Experience
NWU’s founder, Dr. Kevin Liu, has dedicated his career to advancing global education. As a scholar and former Director of the International Development Center at a leading Ukrainian university, he witnessed firsthand both the potential and the challenges of higher education—especially the need for institutions that can adapt to students' changing needs. His vision for NWU was clear: to create a university that leverages technology to deliver practical, results-driven learning for a diverse, global student body.

A Response to Global Disruptions
The COVID-19 pandemic revealed critical gaps in education systems worldwide, particularly in Ukraine, where digital infrastructure struggled to support remote learning. As traditional classrooms became inaccessible, NWU’s founding team saw the urgent need for a new kind of university—one that prioritizes flexibility, innovation, and real-world application.

In February 2022, war further disrupted Ukraine’s education system. As students and scholars faced unprecedented challenges, Dr. Liu and his team remained committed to their mission. Their journey through conflict and uncertainty only reinforced NWU’s core belief: education is not just a tool—it is a path to stability, opportunity, and success.
