Student Achievement Disclosure

New Western University recently launched its MBA program. The University is committed to transparency and will update this page as new data becomes available.

Graduation Rate

The percentage of students who complete their degree within 150% of the normal program length. 150% of the MBA program's normal completion time is 2.25 years.

Result:

  • NWU Benchmark: 54%

  • Summer 2024 MBA Cohort: Data expected October 2026

  • Spring 2025 MBA Cohort: Data expected July 2027

  • Winter 2026 MBA Cohort: Data expected April 2028

Analysis:

Graduation rate data for the Summer 2024 MBA Cohort within 150% of the normal program length is not yet available and is expected in October 2026.

During the initial program launch, structured course sequencing and pacing guidance were still being developed, which contributed to delayed completion and withdrawals.

Action:

The Academic Affairs Manager implemented enhanced progress monitoring and expanded flexible course scheduling beginning January 2026 to support timely program completion. Faculty monitor student progress and report delays, and the Academic Dean oversees scheduling structures and academic pacing.

RETENTION RATE

The percentage of students who continue their studies from one academic year to the next within the NWU's MBA program.

Result:

  • NWU Benchmark: 70%

  • Summer 2024 MBA Cohort: 62.5%

  • Spring 2025 MBA Cohort: 94%

  • Winter 2026 MBA Cohort: Data expected January 2027

Analysis:

NWU did not meet its 70% retention benchmark for the Summer 2024 MBA Cohort. During the initial program launch, structured systems to engage and support students early in the program were still being developed, which contributed to withdrawals.

Action:

The Academic Affairs Manager implemented structured academic advising and early-alert communication protocols beginning January 2026 to improve student retention. Faculty initiate early-alert notifications based on student performance and engagement. The Academic Affairs Manager coordinates advising interventions, and the Academic Dean provides oversight of retention strategies.

PERSISTENCE RATE

The percentage of students who remain enrolled after one academic year.

Result:

  • NWU Benchmark: 70%

  • Summer 2024 MBA Cohort: 62.5%

  • Spring 2025 MBA Cohort: 94%

  • Winter 2026 MBA Cohort: Data expected January 2027

Analysis:

Persistence trends reflect the same challenges identified in retention, particularly that structured systems to engage and support students early in the program were still being developed during the initial launch.

Action:

The structured academic advising and early-alert communication protocols implemented in January 2026 also support improved persistence outcomes.

COURSE COMPLETION RATE

The percentage of students who successfully complete a course with a passing grade. A passing grade is defined as a final course grade of 70% or higher.

Result:

  • NWU Benchmark: 70%

  • Summer 2024 MBA Cohort: 93%

  • Spring 2025 MBA Cohort: 98%

  • Winter 2026 MBA Cohort: Data expected January 2027

Analysis:

The course completion rate exceeded the institutional benchmark.

WITHDRAWAL RATE

The percentage of students who withdraw from the program after one academic year.

Result:

  • NWU Benchmark: No more than 30%

  • Summer 2024 MBA Cohort: 37.5%

  • Spring 2025 MBA Cohort: 6%

  • Winter 2026 MBA Cohort: Data expected January 2027

Analysis:

NWU did not meet the 30% withdrawal rate benchmark for the Summer 2024 MBA Cohort. During the initial program launch, structured academic support systems and early intervention processes were still being developed, which contributed to withdrawals.

Action:

The Academic Dean implemented a structured annual Student Forum in November 2025 to gather direct student feedback. Based on these outcomes, the Academic Affairs Manager strengthened academic advising and early-alert systems and implemented enhanced scheduling flexibility beginning January 2026. Faculty monitor at-risk students and refer them to the Academic Affairs Manager for intervention. The Academic Dean oversees withdrawal reduction strategies.
