Kyiv, Ukraine — On the occasion of the 210th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko, Ukraine’s national poet, Dr. Kevin Liu, President of New Western University (NWU), was invited by the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine (NUBIP) to participate in a commemorative academic and cultural event honoring Shevchenko’s enduring legacy.

The event highlighted Shevchenko’s profound influence on Ukrainian national identity, his advocacy for freedom and equality, and the timeless relevance of his works during times of challenge and transformation.

In his remarks, Dr. Liu reflected:
