New Western University (NWU), based in Covina, California, USA, participated in an academic goodwill visit to Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ukraine.
The visit reflected both institutions’ shared respect for education, innovation, and academic advancement within their respective national contexts.
The NWU delegation included Dr. Kevin Liu, President of NWU, and Caroline Pan, Board Member.They were warmly received by Prof. Oleg Matviykiv, Vice-Rector of Lviv Polytechnic, and Prof. Natalia Shakhovska, Director of the Institute of Computer Science and Information Technology.The discussion focused on sharing insights regarding innovation, information technology, and distance education, highlighting the value of mutual understanding between U.S. and Ukrainian educators.
During the visit, Dr. Liu remarked:
“Visiting Lviv Polytechnic has been truly inspiring. I was impressed by the university’s openness to innovation and its forward-looking vision. Our meeting today strengthened mutual understanding and highlighted the importance of collaboration in ideas and values that transcend borders.”
The meeting served as an academic goodwill meeting, emphasizing goodwill and mutual appreciation without involving any instructional or administrative collaboration.Both universities reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining academic excellence and advancing knowledge within their own educational frameworks.
