Lviv, Ukraine — September 26, 2025
Students and faculty of New Western University (NWU) recently celebrated a unique milestone in community building and connection — a student-initiated meet-up among NWU learners in Ukraine. While NWU operates entirely online and based in the United States, this informal gathering reflected the strength and global reach of its virtual community.
A Student-Led Connection Across Distance
The event was coordinated locally by NWU students who wished to meet their peers in person after studying together online. Several members of the NWU community, including faculty who teach remotely, joined to show their support. The informal session included open conversation about academic journeys, shared experiences with online learning, and encouragement for one another’s professional goals.

Shared Commitment to Learning and Resilience
NWU representatives occasionally participate in student and community events abroad. These activities are conducted under U.S.-based contracts, with no offices or permanent operations outside the United States.
The meet-up showcased how students in different parts of the world engage with NWU’s mission, values, and global learning model. Discussions centered on student resilience, professional growth, and the relevance of NWU’s online programs in a changing world.

Voices of Inspiration
One MBA student from Lviv spoke about applying NWU’s curriculum to his work in business and trade during challenging times, noting that the university’s online program has given him “a practical framework for decision-making and leadership.” Fellow students echoed his sentiments, emphasizing the value of community and connection within NWU’s online environment.

Strengthening a Global Online Community
This gathering symbolized NWU’s belief that meaningful connection transcends geography. While the university’s instruction and administration are fully online, NWU celebrates the initiative of students who build community and embody the university’s mission to foster innovation, inclusion, and resilience—wherever they are in the world.
